What does the law say?

A. No person shall:

1. Knowingly sell, deliver or furnish alcoholic beverages to any person under twenty-one (21) years of age;

What can be done?

This offense, and others that are in the same section, are what are known as predicate offenses. This means that when you are charged the first time it will be a misdemeanor, but if you are charged with the same crime within ten (10) years, the State can file it as a felony. This is why you should always take criminal charges seriously, even if it is only a misdemeanor.
